Client: One of the largest nonprofit healthcare systems in the U.S.

The Context

Our client had been in growth mode for several years, acquiring hospital systems throughout the country. Through this consolidation process, they needed to reduce headcount by both eliminating redundant positions and outsourcing others. The client was seeking a single outplacement provider for all hospitals in their growing system. Bravanti was selected as the preferred provider by the organization’s national headquarters—over both traditional and healthcare-specialized competitors—for our high-touch, high-quality outplacement support, and our trusted partnership with senior leadership. The client also sought Bravanti’s support in the change process to engage and onboard acquired systems to our outplacement services at a local level.

Our Approach

Understanding the complexity of the organization and the need for support at the local level, Bravanti assigned a team of regional account managers to partner with each local hospital system throughout the U.S.

  • To better address the particular needs of healthcare professionals, we also invested in the development of our industry expertise—including hiring additional career consultants with healthcare backgrounds and consulting with Bravanti’s healthcare advisory board, an expert team of healthcare administrative leaders and practitioners with more than 100 years of combined experience in the industry. We also leveraged our deep expertise of the broader job search market
  • Our career coaches partnered with each exiting employee to identify their career goals and unique value proposition, providing coaching and job search skills training, and leveraging the latest technology to support them in their transition
  • Each individual received a touch tablet loaded with job search apps and SearchPoint℠, Bravanti’s career management portal, to connect them with opportunities on the go

The Results

137 individuals from eight hospital systems and corporate HQ have received outplacement coaching to date. 78% of eligible individuals engaged in outplacement services or are currently pending. Exiting employees were supported in Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Washington, D.C. In a post-outplacement program quality survey, all individuals reported that Bravanti met or exceeded their expectations.
